Questions and answers
Short answers about how WATZAAA works. Something missing? Ask us.
What is WATZAAA?
WATZAAA shows what is on in your city — games, concerts, festivals, theater, comedy, classes, specials and sports on TV — and, in Columbus first, puts small groups of people together to go. It is made by JunkDNA AI, Inc. and is in testing in 49 US cities.
Does it cost anything?
No. You never pay WATZAAA. When you book, you book and pay the venue directly. If venues ever pay us, it will never change the order of listings.
Where do the listings come from?
From official sources: team, venue, festival and convention-center calendars and city notices. Our software reads those pages automatically, with AI helping to read them, every morning and again in the afternoon. We list public facts only — title, venue, date, time and a link to the source.
What does “not confirmed” mean?
Confirmed means the official source shows the date and the time, or we checked it by hand. Not confirmed means we found it but have not checked it yet, or the source left something out. Check the source link before you go; the Status step on a city page can show confirmed listings only.
A listing is wrong or missing. How do I tell you?
Tap Feedback at the top of any page, or “Report a problem or idea” at the bottom. The form already knows which page you were on. Reports go to our help desk, where each one is read and tracked.
How are listings ordered? Is anything sponsored?
By a fixed rule printed on the page, such as time of day, and you can change the sort yourself. Nobody can pay to move a listing up. If sponsored listings ever appear, they will be labelled and kept separate.
Which cities are covered?
49 US cities are in testing. A growing number are refreshed automatically every day; the others are previews until their refresh starts, and their pages say so. Sports on TV are shown on every city page in that city’s time.
What are ♥, 🤷, 👎 and 🎯?
♥ means you’d go, 🤷 maybe, 👎 not for me, and 🎯 adds a listing to your bucket list. Your picks build an itinerary for the city. Without an account they are saved only in this browser; the bucket list always is. They never change the order of listings for anyone.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything you can see works without one. Where sign-in is offered it is Sign in with Google, for people 18 and over, and deleting your account deletes your picks with it.
How do groups work?
Tell us what you’d go to anyway and we put you with a few people who said the same. Each group gets three plans and books with the venue directly. Groups are being tried by hand in Columbus first; elsewhere, Join or Host puts you on that city’s waitlist.
Is WATZAAA for everyone?
WATZAAA is for adults 18 and over, and lists public, licensed venues only. Some venues require you to be 21 or older.
What do you collect about me?
As little as we can. Without an account your picks stay in your browser, and your bucket list always does. Analytics never load if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, and you can turn them off on the privacy page. The report form asks for no name, email or location, and removes email addresses and phone numbers if you type them.
What is “Roads today”?
Street closures for big events — marathons, parades, street festivals — taken from the city’s official notices, with a link to the notice. “None known” appears only when we actually read an official closure page that day.
Can I ask an AI assistant instead?
Yes. WATZAAA works as a read-only connector in Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and Gemini: ask what’s on in your city and it answers from the same listings, with nothing stored about your question.
